Frank Van Dyke – Lawyer

frank-van-dyke Frank Van Dyke has been focused on obtaining fair compensation for the injured and disabled for over two decades.  Whether handling a motor vehicle accident claim or catastrophic injury, disability insurance denial, a disability claim, a WSIB claim or a human rights violation, Frank endeavors to bring a compassionate approach to the law.

Frank understand that being injured and disabled can have a serious emotional and financial toll on clients. His practice is contingency-fee based as clients do not pay fees unless their case is settled.

Ashley J. Perna – Licensed Paralegal

Ashley J. Perna

Ashley J. Perna is a dedicated and skilled Paralegal, licenced by the Law Society of Ontario since 2025. She works closely with Mr. Van Dyke to provide legal services and represent clients, primarily focusing on Small Claims Court, the Human Rights Tribunal, WSIB/WSIAT matters, Provincial Offences Act matters and landlord tenant disputes.

Initially pursuing a degree in English at Queen’s University, Ashley’s passion for the law led her to shift focus to legal studies. Completing the Law Clerk program at St. Lawrence College in 2007, Ashley worked in the legal support services field for approximately 15 years before returning to school in 2023 to further her legal career in Paralegal Studies at Loyalist College. She joined our firm in 2025, just before graduating at the top of her class. Throughout her time at Loyalist College, Ashley was the winner of the Ontario Remembrance Scholarship, the Faculty Award and the 2025 Paralegal Program Award for excellence in advocacy.

Combining keen analytical skills with an empathetic approach, Ashley is dedicated to providing accessible and cost-effective legal services to our clients.

In her spare time, Ashley enjoys archery, embroidery, watching her favourite PWHL teams and continuing her legal education through ongoing study.

Joanne Burnie – Legal Assistant

joanne-burnie Joanne was born in Ottawa and moved to Kingston with her husband and two children in 2006. In 2007 Joanne began working as a legal assistant for Frank Van Dyke. Joanne has extensive experience in handling all aspects of personal injury matters and works hard to obtain the maximum compensation for our clients.

In her spare time, Joanne enjoys singing, movies, cooking and spending time with her family.
