Ontario WSIB Claims
Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) deals directly with workplace insurance claims due to unforeseen accidents and resulting injuries. However, not all insurance coverage is made equal. In some cases, WSIB may be stringent in their assessments and fail to accurately compensate injured employees. That’s where we come in.
Here are the steps followed in most WSIB claims:
- Injury occurs. Your workplace will need to fill out an accident or disease report (Form 7), and you’ll need to fill out a Form 6, with both papers being submitted to WSIB.
- Seek medical attention. No matter how big or small your injury, you should receive medical attention as a precaution and to ensure no further harm comes to you or delays your recovery.
- Additional form submission. The Health Professional’s Report (Form 8) will need to be filled out by your doctor and submitted to WSIB.
- Review process. WSIB will begin reviewing the applicable forms and contact you regarding your case and the progress of their assessment.
