WSIB – The Workplace and Safety Insurance Board

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) oversees workplace health and safety in Ontario and administers the Ontario workers compensation system for employers and workers. The WSIB website offers extensive information about prevention, forms, health issues, return to work programs, and links to other health and safety organizations.

WSIB Claims

When a worker in Ontario is injured or suffers illness in the workplace, the worker must report the incident/illness and may need to make a WSIB disability claim for income and health benefits. Form 6, is the form that a worker completes and send to the WSIB after a work-related injury or illness. The claim must be filed immediately as there is a 6 month deadline for filing. If the WSIB refuses your claim, you can then a WSIB appeal may be initiated.
